About South Bay Hydro
South Bay Hydro is a hydroponics store in Torrance, California. It is listed at 800 W Carson St #31, Torrance, CA 90502, which places it among the local businesses of Torrance that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under store, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
In Torrance, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in California, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. The listed phone number is (714) 880-5063. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 28 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Torrance is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Torrance is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is the absolute best Hydro Store in the Harbor Area, South bay, Long Beach and Los Angeles ! The owner is a great guy with the best manner and knowledge and doesnt try and overcharge like these "commercial" hydro "shops" that overcharge buy at least 10 to 20$ on every product. They are not open Fri-Sun so I suggest planning on getting your supplies ahead of time. South Bay doesnt even have to stay open 6 to 7 days a week like these "commercial hydro" stores and they are know as the best hydro store by many people in the industry. Hands down do not waiste your time at any other hydro store. If you got to make the trip I can make a guarentee it's worth it and this will be your go to shop from then on.

This place never has what I need, instead they always tell me they can order it for me. If I wanted it ordered I’d just go on amazon. Also don’t waste your time calling in. They never answer, it’s like they have the phone on silent or they just don’t care to answer the phone. On top of it they lack growing knowledge. I feel like I know more then they do. From now on I’m just gonna go to Green Coast Hydroponics. They always have what I need & they are very knowledgeable

Very Cool shop!! Will have Most everything you need. Guys, not super helpful with questions, but prices are good. Know what you need before you go, and get good prices, some cheaper than best internet sales I could find.

I am very pleased with the quality of service and inventory. The people working there are very nice, helpful and respectable to all their customers. I guarantee that no matter how far or close you shop for supplies, in one visit they will be the only place you'll ever shop again. The prices are very reasonable, you won't regret it especially if you're starting out like me you'll soon be excelling in your knowledge and the results speaks for itself. I've been shopping here for two years and counting. Thanks sb hydo
